The new Pharmacopoeia will be implemented from October 1

The 2010 edition of the "Chinese Pharmacopoeia" will be formally implemented on October 1. At that time, the drug standards of the same species that were originally included in the calendar edition pharmacopoeia, the drug standards promulgated by the Ministry of Health, the new drug calibration standards issued by the State Food and Drug Administration, and local standards that have risen to national standards will be abolished at the same time.

The National Pharmacopoeia Committee held the 2010 edition of the “Chinese Pharmacopoeia” publicity and implementation conference in Beijing yesterday. Sang Guowei, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, pointed out at the meeting that the implementation of the 2010 edition of the "Chinese Pharmacopoeia" is of great significance for raising the level of public drug safety, enhancing the international competitiveness of China's pharmaceutical products and further promoting the restructuring of China's pharmaceutical industry.

Wu Jun, deputy chairman of the Ninth State Pharmacopoeia Committee and deputy director of the State Food and Drug Administration, said that the Ministry of Health, the State Food and Drug Administration and other relevant departments will conduct publicity and training for the implementation of the new edition of the Pharmacopoeia, and the implementation of the new edition of the Pharmacopoeia Conduct supervision and inspection. At the same time, it will continue to promote the continuous improvement of national drug standards.

It is reported that the 2010 edition of the "Chinese Pharmacopoeia" is the ninth edition of the Pharmacopoeia since the founding of the People's Republic of China. It has collected 4,567 kinds of medicines and added 1,386 kinds of varieties, covering all essential medicines included in the National Essential Drug List. After the implementation of the new edition of the "Chinese Pharmacopoeia", the formulation of the 2015 edition of the "Chinese Pharmacopoeia" will also be launched later.
