Soybeans, often referred to as "sweet potato" in some regions, are also known locally as "raw geuca." This is an annual leguminous plant, and its underground tubers are the edible part. After the previous harvest, deep plowing to a depth of 25–30 cm is recommended. Mix in 1,000 pounds of fire ash, 2,000 pounds of pig manure, and 500 pounds of bean cake per mu (approx. 667 square meters). Two months before sowing, break up the soil blocks and create raised beds that are 1.2–1.3 meters wide. The furrows should be about 25 cm deep to ensure good drainage.
