Midsummer Climbing Management

The management of the Clivia summer is crucial, and effective measures must be taken to ensure the safety of the Clivia.

Keeping away from the sun During the summer, the Clivia should be placed in a well ventilated environment with no direct sunlight. Clivia is a light flower, suitable for soft spring and autumn light, not sun exposure. In the summer, it is best to place the pots under shade and the sun through the gaps in the shade to allow the plants to receive weaker light. If placed at noon to avoid direct sunlight, but in the morning and night to see the sun is the best place. Generally, summer shade should reach 60%-70%.

Cooling and humidifying summer, put the clivia in a ventilated place. If the ambient temperature is above 35°C, the water in the soil will evaporate too quickly, which will cause the supply of water and nutrients in the clivia. Therefore, it is better to place the kaffir on a basin or a water basin (upholstered with wood), and often spray water around the plants and leaves to improve the temperature and humidity of the clivia, so that it can grow below 25 °C, and the humidity reaches 60% - 70% of the small environment in order to facilitate the summer and can promote the growth of Clivia summer.

The proper amount of watered clivia is native to South Africa's virgin forest, which makes it unique in its morphological and physiological functions. The leaves of Clivia are broad and soft, requiring high soil moisture and high air humidity. In the hot summer, Clivia grows slowly, and the root system absorbs less water, but the leaf surface water evaporation is very large. Therefore, the Clivia can not lack of water, otherwise fleshy roots shrink, leaf-shaped thin, dull. When watering, stick to semi-dry watering and pour the water. However, it is not possible to water the surface once it is dry. Otherwise, the basin soil is in a long-term wet state, and it is easy to rot the roots and yellow leaves. When watering, you must be careful not to allow water to enter the heart of the leaf, so as to avoid rotten heart disease, leading to "beheaded."

Controlled fertilization has high temperatures in summer, and Clivia vulgaris is in a semi-dormant or dormant state. Therefore, it is necessary to control fertilization to minimize or not apply it. Because of its weak absorption ability in the roots during this period, if the fertilization or fertilization is a little more, the fertilizer will accumulate around the roots for a long time, and it will easily cause rot and stem rot. However, during this period, if the temperature of Clivia growth environment is reduced to below 25°C, some thin liquid fertilizer may be applied to promote its growth and shorten its dormant period; if the temperature drops below 20°C and the humidity reaches the requirement, then Fertilize as usual.
