Excessive fertilization of fruit trees

Some fruit growers think that fertilizing many fruit trees is as good as it is. If they are willing to invest, the fruit trees will be productive, but it is not. Excessive fertilization of fruit trees not only fails to increase production, but can lead to many adverse consequences.

Affect the quality of the fruit

In the later period of fruit growth, if a large amount of nitrogen fertilizer is applied, the sugar content of the fruit will be reduced, the hardness will be reduced, the coloring will be poor, and the product will be resistant to storage, thereby reducing its commodity value.

Affect the quality of shoots and buds

If an excessive amount of nitrogen fertilizer is applied in the autumn, the autumn shoots will prosper, the leaves will be delayed, the shoots will not be mature enough, and the winter will easily lead to draws. In addition, due to the late growth of new shoots, insufficient nutrients in shoots are not conducive to the formation of full and robust flower buds, affecting the quality and yield of fruits in the coming year.

Poisoning

Due to the large amount of fertilizer applied, the concentration of soil solution is increased, which makes it difficult to absorb moisture and inorganic salts in the roots of fruit trees, resulting in wilting in the top of the ground. Failure to timely remedy will cause the tree to die due to the inability to absorb water.

Causes tree nutrient imbalance

There is an antagonistic effect between the segregants, that is, the presence of a certain segregant can inhibit the activity of another segregating nutrients or other segregants, thereby affecting the tree's absorption. For example, in the acidic soil, the amount of nitrogen fertilizer applied should not be too much, otherwise it is very difficult for the crop to absorb calcium ions. Excessive application of calcium fertilizer can induce crops suffering from deficiency of zinc, boron, iron, magnesium and manganese. Too much potassium will also affect the absorption of calcium and magnesium ions in fruit trees.
