If you see them, it means baby shrimp are present, and it's time to start feeding them soy milk. After a few more days, the second stage will appear: small, matchstick-shaped larvae. Once they're visible, wait another 3–4 days until they fully develop and can swim like real shrimp. At this point, they should be around 3,000 to 5,000 per pound, and no longer require milk feed. You can now move them to a larger culture pond.
**Aquaculture Pond Management**
The setup is similar to the breeding pond, but the water level must be at least 80 cm deep. Restock in late June or early July. The stocking density is usually 3,000 to 5,000 shrimp per 15 kg (dry weight), or around 10,000 per 10 kg. To improve growth, plant some grass or water peanuts in the pond and use a net to catch shrimp under the plants. You can also set up a trap cage behind the net to collect more shrimp. During summer, add an oxygenation system to prevent hypoxia. Avoid leaving the water level too low—check it regularly.
By mid-July, introduce 10 flower buds, 15 white pelicans, and 5 grass carp, all less than 20 cm in size. Finally, by late October, you can begin selling your harvest using small nets. This method not only saves costs but also ensures a steady supply of high-quality shrimp for your farm.
