According to the UK’s “Daily Mail†on the 23rd, Darren Jones, a 38-year-old British man, claimed to suffer from “Coke Dependence,†killing 18 Coke daily and drinking an average of 42 liters a week. Jones spends 3,000 pounds (about 2.9 million yuan) a year on cola.
Jones relied on Coke more than 10 years ago. In this decade, he drank about 65,700 Coke. Jones said that if he didn't drink Coke any day, he would be depressed and in a bad mood; he must also carry a bottle of Coke with him. "I basically don't drink anything else. My family said that if I didn't drink Coke any day, it would turn into a big demon," said Jones.
Doctors believe that although Jones claims to be in good health, long-term drinking can still cause harm. "There are artificial sweeteners and caffeine in cola, so drinking too much can be harmful to the body."
