Happy almost-Christmas, beauties! This year, our Christmas Eve is shaping up to be a quiet affair. Since there's no extended family visiting from out of town, it'll just be the five of us—well, technically four, because one little guy will probably be too busy drooling over his bouncer to join us at the table. You know who I'm talking about!
I absolutely adore holiday dinners, whether it’s a small gathering with immediate family or a big house full of friends and loved ones. Creating a cozy atmosphere doesn't have to be complicated. Neutral tones paired with natural greens and a touch of shimmer can transform your dining space into something warm and inviting. It’s perfect for a winter evening spent around the table. Below are some of my recent inspirations that I’ve been pinning like crazy lately.
I’ve been eyeing that sleek white IKEA table for ages—it would fit perfectly in our eat-in kitchen area. Even without it, I’m dreaming of how I could set up a cozy table for our small group. When keeping things minimalistic, you can turn food into decoration. For example, set a few small bowls of side dishes on the table, but serve the rest in the kitchen or on an auxiliary "buffet" table. To save space, stack your dishes and utensils neatly. Wrap your silverware in your favorite linen napkins and add a personalized napkin ring on top. This way, the table looks put-together without taking up too much room.
When hosting a dinner party at a smaller table, think vertically! A tall, slender centerpiece draws the eye upward and makes the space feel larger. A tiered stand not only holds food but also doubles as decor. And if your centerpiece blocks conversation, feel free to move it off the table during dinner. On the other hand, a simple centerpiece made from greens picked from your backyard can work wonders. Get creative! Extend the festive vibe by hanging a garland made from white felt or those same greens above the table. Matching throw pillows for the chairs can add both comfort and luxury. Consider placing an ornament at each guest’s seat as a keepsake they can take home after the meal.
Most importantly, enjoy the moment! Whether you're celebrating with a few close ones or throwing a big bash, the spirit of the season lies in connection. I hope you're getting ready for a joyous Christmas, no matter how you choose to celebrate.
What are your plans for Christmas this year? Are you decking the halls or keeping it low-key?
xoxo
