Recently, more than 10 investment companies from Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing and other places have entered Zhonghui Medical Technology Co., Ltd. to seek cooperation. The PET/CT project, led by Zhonghe Company's “Hundred Talents Program†talent and doctoral tutor Wu Heyu, passed the performance test of Beijing Medical Instrument Inspection Institute.
Zhonghui Company mainly produces and operates all-digital color Doppler ultrasound diagnostic instruments, all-digital black-and-white B-ultrasound, ECG monitoring and other medical electronic instruments. Over the years, the company has been focusing on the forefront of the development of the medical technology industry, and has actively “brought brains to increase intelligence†and has won the market through innovative development.
“Since 2007, we have researched high-end Medical Equipment with PET/CT and recruited talents around the world,†said Ju Xiaoping, chairman of the company. In 2012, Ju Xiaoping met Dr. Wu Heyu, who is conducting research and development at the University of Washington in the United States. “Jiang’s longing for talents and the embarrassment of domestic PET/CT projects have caused me to resonate strongly.†Wu Heyu said, “In communication, I found that Ju Dong has a forward-looking vision for the medical industry’s technological development. The project is successful. Not only can it greatly improve domestic medical technology, but it can also reduce the high cost of medical treatment for cancer patients."
PET/CT is a revolution in medical imaging. It is called "the crown of modern medical high technology". It can understand the whole body condition at a glance, and achieve the purpose of early detection of lesions and diagnosis of diseases. At present, the PET/CT used by domestic medical units is mainly imported, and the cost of one equipment is as high as 20-30 million yuan. "Whoever develops first, who will take the lead in occupying the market." Ju Xiaoping said.
In March of that year, Wu Heyu was introduced by Zhonghui Company from Washington University as a technical director. He was responsible for the development of the national “Twelfth Five-Year†high-tech support project, the provincial scientific and technological achievements industrialization project TOF-PET imaging core technology research and PET/CT. The research and development work of the whole machine was funded by the “Green Yang Jinfeng Plan†of Yangzhou City and the “Double-Creation Plan†of the province in 2012 and 2013 respectively. In October this year, it was funded by the “Double Chuang Teamâ€.
Wu Heyu built a research and development team of more than 100 people around the project, including 12 full-time experts, 12 doctors and 26 masters. In 2014, team members Ren Jinglian and Li Nan became the provincial “double-creative talents†and “double-creative doctors†respectively. Wu Heyu and his research team have developed new fields for enterprise R&D with professional technology and knowledge. The total investment of the project is 180 million yuan, and it is planned to build a PET/CT production base with international first-class level and its supporting facilities. The first phase of the project is expected to produce 30 units per year. After the completion of the project, the annual sales income will reach 300 million yuan and the profit and tax will be 45 million yuan.
The project has completed all key technical aspects of research and development, and key components have passed performance evaluation. The core components and performance indicators of the prototype were tested by the University of Washington, China Metrology Academy and CFDA Beijing Medical Device Inspection Institute, and exceeded the latest equipment performance of Siemens. The spatial resolution of the CT prototype reached the international performance index of similar equipment, and the performance of the PET/CT prototype was achieved. The international mainstream product level, some indicators surpass foreign similar products, and become the only domestically developed TOF-PET/CT with a localization rate of over 90%.
