In the first half of the year, China’s exports of Japanese health products were US$15.21 million, up 9% year-on-year, but lower than the average increase of 41% in the total exports of health products, mainly due to the current uncertain employment situation in Japan.

The unemployment rate as a lagged variable slowly declined after the beginning of the year. With the improvement of the U.S. economy, China’s exports of U.S. health care products in the first half of the year amounted to US$23.86 million, a year-on-year increase of 75%. The freeze-dried powder of royal jelly freeze-dried from Japan showed a trend of falling prices, mainly due to Japan's stricter testing of royal jelly freeze-dried powder in China, resulting in a decrease in qualified raw materials. In the first half of the year, the average unit price of royal jelly freeze-dried powder against Japan increased by 5% year-on-year to reach US$70/kg.
