Hanging method The dry standard seeds are put into a black double bag and hanged in the sample room or standard sample cabinet to keep the room or cabinet dry, cool, ventilated, free from direct sunlight and pest free. The seeds are safely stored for 3 to 5 years. Ears, pods, and fruits are used to carry air-dried standard seeds with spikes, ribbons, and fruit in nylon Gauze bags, suspended in a standard sample room, and stored in a cool, ventilated, cool, dark place. This method is commonly used for the storage of crop seed samples such as corn, wheat, rapeseed, soybeans, and peanuts.
