Routine management techniques for broilers

At present, the “AA” broiler we raise every day is a breed of broiler breeder introduced from abroad in recent years. Its characteristics are: fast growth, short feeding period, high feed conversion rate, and can be 6-7 weeks old. Slaughter, weighing up to 2.1-2.5 kg, but the management requirements are higher than other broilers.

First, temperature. Twenty-four hours before hatching, the temperature in the house is required to reach 31-32°C and the temperature of the brooder edge is 33-34°C. The temperature in each stage after entering the chicks needs to be 30-32°C for 1-7 days, 29-31°C for 8-14 days, 26-28°C for 15-21 days, 24-26°C for 22-28 days, 29 -35-day-old 21-24 °C, 36 days of age until the slaughter temperature maintained at 22 °C. The suitability of Shervin depends on the status and activities of the flock. When the temperature is appropriate, the chicks are active and evenly distributed, and they sleep quietly after turning off the lights. When the temperature is too low, the chicks move slowly, narrow their necks and arch back, concentrate at high temperatures, crowd each other, increase feed intake, and wet the litter; When it's too high, the chicks breathe openly and cry constantly, drinking frequently and away from heat. If the temperature is too high or too low, it should be adjusted in time.

Second, humidity. For the first two weeks, the relative temperature in the house should be maintained at 65-70% and then decreased to 55%-60%. The pre-humidity is high, the main purpose is to prevent the chicks from dehydration due to high temperature and promote the absorption of yolk. If the temperature is insufficient, sprinkle water on the ground or put some water dispensers. From the age of 3 weeks, because the chicks themselves excrete a lot of water from the feces, the litter is moist and there is no need to artificially increase the humidity.

Third, light. For fully enclosed chicken houses, 24 hours of continuous light was used in the first week, and an equivalent light intensity of 3 watts per square meter was given to help the chicks feed on water. From the second week of age, taking intermittent light, that is, 3 hours dark, 1 hour Ming, can make broilers get enough rest, reduce the number of activities, reduce the chance of fighting and energy consumption, improve feed conversion efficiency.

Fourth, ventilation. Generally speaking, if you enter the chicken house and feel a pungent smell of ammonia, you should open the window or switch on the ventilation to maintain fresh air in the house.

Fifth, health and disease prevention. To maintain the environmental sanitation of the coops, the drinking fountains should be washed twice a day. The feed trough should be disinfected regularly. The operation room should be cleaned and flushed normally. The chicken coop must have a pedal disinfecting pool at the entrance and insist on replacing the disinfectant every day. Disinfect chicken once. Timely elimination of sick and weak chicks. Remove weeds and rubbish around the sheds and often spray caustic soda on the ground. From the first day of the chick's age, you can use medicines such as vitamin A and other drugs. Adding 50 ml of 100% disease to 100 kg of water, and even serving for 3 days, have a good effect on preventing the occurrence of chicken disease. In terms of vaccination, the following immunization procedures are most effective: Newcastle Disease Vaccine + Infectious Bronchitis Vaccine is used to administer intranasal eye drops on 4-5 days of age; 14 days of age are treated with Infectious Bursal Disease vaccine; drinking water at 23 days of age; Vaccine drinking water; 36 days old drinking water with infectious bursa vaccine.

Sixth, bedding treatment. For broiler chickens raised on the ground, it is required that the grass be soft and dry, and rice straw or 4-5 cm straw can be used. Pavement 10-15 cm thick, available to prevent chicken breast cysts and toe tumors. After all the broilers had slaughtered, the bedding was cleared in time, and the interior was completely disinfected to prepare for the continued feeding of young chicks.
Seven, slaughter management. Broilers are sold for 42-49 days weighing 2.1-2.5 kg. When catching chickens, turn off the lighting, remove the feed buckets and drinkers, scratch the chicken's hairless crotch, and not catch wings. Packed and transported away immediately to prevent death and suffocation.
