On November 29th, the National Natural Science Foundation of China's major project, Soybean Outstanding Resources Exploration and Genomic Research was officially launched at Nanjing Agricultural University. The research on soybean germplasm resources is the basis for the development of soybean genetics and breeding and related disciplines. One of the main reasons for the stagnation of soybean breeding in China is that the research on soybean germplasm resources is not thorough enough. China is the center of the origin of soybeans. The collection and preservation of more than 30,000 soybean resources ranks first in the world, which contains a wealth of beneficial genes. This study has focused on the domestic leader in this field and the research content will be the most cutting-edge in China. After 45 years of research, it is expected to use the abundant genetic resources of soybeans in China to carry out molecular markers for good agronomic traits, obtain important genes or major genes associated with breeding, and conduct functional identification to explore certain soybeans. The mechanism of the formation of agronomic traits, the preliminary construction of bioinformatics analysis and processing system for soybean genome.
