Canary Feeding Management

Canary Passerine, Finch. The feather is bright, the body is small and exquisite, the beauty is beautiful, and the temperament is cheerful. It is a very beautiful bird that can sing and is now bred by many countries as a bird.

Canary general body length 12 cm -14 cm, plumage color yellow, white, red, green, gray brown and other colors, of which, the number of yellow is more, the most valuable is the mouth and legs are flesh-colored white gold Birds, followed by white feathers and red-eyed canaries. Canary easy to raise, good management, strong reproductive capacity, high economic efficiency. The family can keep the canary and pay attention to the following four points:

Male and female identification

The newly emerged canary chicks have the same sexual feathers and are difficult to distinguish between male and female. However, after two to three months, the male's anal (cloacus) protrusions were tapered, while the females were flat and elliptical. Identify the bird by hand and blow the feather around the anus to see. Adult birds look from the outside, the male body is larger, the tail is longer, the head is rounder, the head and the body are darker; the female body is smaller, the tail is shorter, the head is more slender, and the head and body plumes are lighter shallow. In addition, the throat buzzed when it rang and fluctuate up and down, and the voice was continuous and melodious. The male bird was a melodious and the female bird was monotonous.

Cage settings

Family-reared canaries can be reared in square or round bamboo cages, preferably in specially made canary cages. The male and female birds were reared in cages at ordinary times, and only one was kept per cage. Eight months later, the cages could be raised in cages and replaced by a breeding cage of 46 cm, 30 cm and 35 cm. In the cage, food cans, water tanks, and habitat bars are installed. The bottom of the cage should be covered with a layer of fine sand or cardboard so that bird droppings can be easily cleaned.

Daily management

The daily diet of the canary is millet, medlar, cornmeal, soybeans, and rapeseed. These feeds can be selected or matched according to the actual situation. In order to maintain its robustness, it is generally necessary to feed cooked eggs, millet noodles, and peanuts at a rate of 10% to 20% of the main food before moulting, before winter breeding, or when the body is wasted.

In addition, we must feed a small slice of tender leaves every day, such as fresh cabbage, fresh bitter herbs and so on. The canary particularly likes bitter herbs, which not only control diarrhea, but also provide vitamins. If conditions permit, fresh bitter herbs can be stored in summer and autumn for winter use. The canary loves cleaning, and the utensils and drinking utensils should be cleaned every day. Perches are washed once every 3 days. During the summer night, cages should be used to cover the cage to prevent mosquito bites. The canary during estrus, mating, hatching and brooding should pay special attention to silence and guard against fright. The brooding cage should be placed on a wall that can shelter from wind, rain, and cleanness to facilitate the hatching and brooding of the bird.

Reproduction

After the male and female birds have been caged, there is an estrus performance from 20 days to 30 days. At this time, the artificial nest can be hung in the upper part of the breeding cage. When the female bird's mouth feathers are seen in the nest or swirled in the nest, It was said that the nesting had begun. At this time, a group of clean cotton should be hung on the cage post. The birds will soon be called to build the nest. Three days to four days after the nest is established, the female begins to lay eggs, producing 2 to 6 eggs per litter.

It takes about 25 days for hatchlings to grow from shells to feathers. After one month, the fledglings can be separated from the birds and raised in cages. The feed is still mainly egg yolk until the fledglings are full for two months. After that, we can gradually use daily feeds. After 6 months of feeding, the chicks started to sing, and 9 to 10 months of sexual maturity led to singing and breeding.

Vitamins are organic compounds and vital nutrients that an organism requires in limited amounts. An organic chemical compound (or related set of compounds) is called a vitamin when the organism cannot synthesize the compound in sufficient quantities, and it must be obtained through the diet.

Your body needs them to work properly, so you grow and develop just like you should. They are essential for the normal growth and development of a multicellular organism. Once growth and development are completed, vitamins remain essential nutrients for the healthy maintenance of the cells, tissues, and organs that make up a multicellular organism; they also enable a multicellular life form to efficiently use chemical energy provided by food it eats, and to help process the proteins, carbohydrates, and fats required for respiration.
