The Cause of "Pan Pool" and Its Solution
After the autumn harvest, it's time for the tractor to enter its "rest period." While this may seem like a downtime, it's actually a crucial time for maintenance. In addition to addressing any remaining issues, farmers should not overlook essential care steps that will keep their tractors in top condition for the next season. Here are some key points to consider during this maintenance phase:
First, it's important to thoroughly clean the tractor. Remove all weeds, dirt, and sludge from the machine to prevent corrosion and ensure all components remain dry and functional. A clean tractor is less likely to suffer from rust or mechanical problems over time.
Second, make sure to refill the tractor with clean diesel, fresh lubricants, and proper cooling water. It’s also a good idea to remove the storage battery and V-belt to avoid unnecessary wear and tear during the rest period.
Third, perform proper lubrication on all moving parts. For the crankcase, heat the oil to around 120°C until the foam disappears. Then, add the oil into the crankcase, rotate the crankshaft several times, and drain the oil afterward. This process helps flush out any impurities and ensures smooth operation when the tractor is used again.
Fourth, protect the engine cylinders by applying a small amount of oil into the intake valve. Turn the crankshaft so that the oil coats the top of the piston, cylinder walls, and valve seats. This helps prevent oxidation and keeps the engine ready for the next use.
Fifth, clean the air filter housing and replace the filter if necessary. Also, wrap the air filter, muffler, water tank, and fuel tank openings with cloth to prevent dust and debris from entering these critical areas.
Lastly, place the clutch in the "closed" position, set the gear shift lever to neutral, and lift the tractor’s wheels off the ground. This reduces stress on the transmission and tires, keeping them in better condition during storage.
By following these steps, farmers can extend the life of their tractors and ensure they're always ready for the next season's work. Taking the time now will save money and hassle later.
