Researchers at the Institute of Integrated Nanotechnology in Dresden, Germany, have created a remote-controlled sperm robot that can control a specific direction and even move directly toward an egg. This research has made sex more interesting because we can play games with remote-controlled sperm cars later.
This sperm robot can be controlled by a magnetic field, and live sperm cells are stored in tiny tubes. These microtubes are made of titanium and iron flakes, and the conical design allows for better storage of sperm. However, each sperm is not manually placed in a microtube. Conversely, the microtubes and sperm are placed in the same dish, and after a while, the sperm will randomly enter the tube and eventually get trapped inside.
These microtubes are very light for sperm, and sperm can move while they are swimming, but due to the magnetic elements they can move under the manual guidance of the magnetic field. The speed of sperm is controlled by changes in temperature, and they can be manipulated at a rate of 100 microns per second.
In order to free the trapped sperm, the researchers were able to use a magnetic field to disassemble the microtube and release the sperm at a predetermined location. The research team has not yet perfected the technology, but it is very positive about its feasibility. The manipulation of the magnetic field can also be used to move the microtube away from your body, so you don't have to worry about these microtubes wandering in your body for the rest of your life.
