Shrimp rely on the bottom of their habitat for food, so cultivating natural organisms in the pond is the best source of nutrition for young shrimp. This helps them grow faster, strengthens their immunity, and improves disease resistance. At the same time, making full use of the pond's productivity and reducing feed costs are effective strategies to improve shrimp farming efficiency. Practical experience has shown that focusing on the cultivation of natural feed organisms can lower the feed conversion ratio, cut costs, and boost profitability. The fertilization method involves applying 50 kg of fermented chicken manure per mu as organic fertilizer, along with 2 kg of inorganic fertilizer and 0.5 kg of phosphate fertilizer per acre. This ensures a balanced nutrient level in the water, promoting healthy growth of microorganisms. Phosphate also helps control the growth of blue-green algae, allowing diatoms to dominate the water. The ideal water color should be yellow-green or yellow-brown. If the water becomes too clear and the transparency exceeds 50 cm, additional fertilization should be applied every 2-3 days until the desired concentration is achieved, after which fertilization should stop. During the initial stage of cultivating biological feed, a water depth of 50 cm is sufficient. First, the water color should be established, followed by adding more water for the second round of culture. This approach is scientifically sound. By cultivating phytoplankton through photosynthesis, it’s important to maintain an appropriate water depth. If the water is deeper than 1 meter, the lower layer lacks enough nutrients, making it difficult for phytoplankton to thrive. Additionally, when cultivating benthic organisms, fertilizer particles should be spread across the pond bottom. For plankton cultivation, however, the fertilizer must be dissolved and evenly sprayed on the water surface to ensure proper distribution in the water column.
